Tiles or wall panels?
Tiles offer a wide choice of formats, patterns and grout colours. Wall panels can create larger continuous surfaces with fewer visible joints. The right option depends on product suitability, the wall beneath and the details around corners, fittings and openings.
Water resistance depends on the complete installed system. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance for boards, adhesive, trims, joints and seals, especially inside a shower.
Keep the room balanced
- Use one main surface and a smaller accent area to avoid a busy room.
- Repeat a colour from the floor, furniture or accessories for a coordinated finish.
- Consider the direction of the pattern and where joins or grout lines will fall.
- Check the finish in daylight and under the room’s planned lighting.
Before work starts
Have your installer check that the walls are sound, level and ready for the chosen system. Plan any pipework, wiring and fixing points before covering the walls. Confirm the material quantities, compatible accessories and installation instructions before booking the work.
